Students given tour of new leisure centre site

Students at king Harold Academy were given a special tour of the new Waltham Abbey Leisure Centre site ahead of its official topping out ceremony on Wednesday. The new state-of-the-art centre will include a six lane 25m pool along with a 15m learner pool, an 80-station fitness suite, exercise and group cycling studio with virtual classes led by Les Mills virtual master trainers, a café and community room. The group of Year 9 Students visited the construction site and met the construction team from Pellikaan. They were also able to find out about the design of the new centre and take a site tour.  Key personnel involved with the development shared their career journeys into the construction industry with staff. Jacqui Hammond, the school's Head of Careers, said: "It was a great afternoon visiting the site and seeing the development. "The new leisure centre will be a fantastic asset for our students and the local community of Waltham Abbey. "A big thank you to the site team at Pellikaan and Epping Forest District Council for organising the visit."
