Results Day 2018

King Harold students continue to succeed in GCSE examinations.

Students at King Harold have had another successful results day as the school celebrates its continuing progress during a time of increasingly difficult examinations. Students have yet again exceeded expectations and will now be equipped to move onto the next stage of their education or employment.

Overall 70% of students achieved a pass in English with 60% passing in Maths. Many students excelled under the new grading system, for example Rosie Seddon who achieved two grade 9’s in Mathematics and Art along with 4 subjects at grade 8 and all others being 6 or above. Jack Baker is another example of success as he achieved a 9 in English along with 8’s and 7’s in all other subjects. Jack also sat an additional GCSE in History where he worked with the department outside of school time and was incredibly successful with his results.

Head of School Ian Tilbury said “Under a more rigorous exam system students should be very proud of their achievements, we wish them well in their future paths be it doing A levels at Debden Park High School, going to college, apprenticeships, or entering into employment”

Executive Headteacher Christian Cavanagh said “The continued success of King Harold is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all staff and students, as we continue to strive towards excellence at the school.”
