Parent Governor Vacancies

get involved  governor

Debden Park High School and King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy have a joint Governing Body between them.  At present there are 2 Parent Governor vacancies that needs to be filled by parent/carers from King Harold Academy.

Parent Governors play an important role as members of the governing body, which is responsible for directing the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards of educational achievement.

If you would like to stand for election, or to nominate someone else, please contact Josie Wood,  Clerk to the Governing Body, at to request further information and a nomination form.

Nominations must be proposed and seconded by other parents/carers with children at the school.  The person nominated must, on the day that nominations close, be a parent/carer of a registered student at the school.  No parent/carer may propose or second more candidates than there are vacancies.  Parents/Carers being nominated are invited to provide some brief biographical details suitable for inclusion in the ballot paper.

The successful candidate will be required to submit an Enhanced application through the school to the DBS and will not be able to take up their appointment until a clear disclosure is notified to the school.  The school will pay for the cost of the certificate.

If there are more nominations than vacancies the election will be by secret ballot.  If that is necessary, voting papers will be sent to all parents together with details of the ballot procedure.
